2001-09-12 / 11:53 a.m. ~A Brand New Day~ Another brief entry written whilst on break at work. Brief. First thing, Lulu is talking decomposition of bodies. I want to stick my fingers in my ears and shout, "la la la la la la!!!". Or say, "Shut the fuck up!" at least, but I don't. And she shuts up, all on her own. TV all last night, all last night, no "Big Brother" - and how are they anyway? Those people playing that game, cut off from the world, stuck in that makeshift house, in L.A......surely they've been told. Surely, right? I can't think about it too much, the fear, the people, the death, the destruction, the planes, the fear, the death, because it's all speculation if you weren't there, and the imagination makes it more intense, we've seen the movies, the special effects, the actors pretending, we can imagine all of it, can't we? And Lulu talks smack about the people on the planes - why didn't they overpower their attackers? she wants to know, and I say, don't demean them, Lulu, you weren't there, you are talking smack about the dead, that is wrong, and you, a Christian.... It's all up to our imaginations, and now we'll be flooded with eyewitness accounts, human interest stories, who was on the planes (two scouts for the L.A. Kings....I heard), etc., etc., and it will go on and on, but we can't say we would've done this, or we would've done that, because we can't KNOW, okay? No, Lulu, even with your army training, you don't KNOW. Let them lie in peace, wherever they are. They're gone, all those people, died in fear, and they are gone. Let them lie. It's a brand new day, but this is just the beginning, isn't it? Cost of the War in Iraq
