Saturday, Jul. 23, 2005 / 4:02 p.m. ~Resilient, My Ass!~ The thing with the London police shooting the hell out of that guy at the train station? Makes me feel physically ill. As soon as I heard about it, no shit, as soon as I heard it the first time, I knew something was wrong, I knew they'd made a mistake. And really, it's hard to believe it didn't happen in this country after the dreaded and quite infamous 'nine eleven'. Random and assorted dark skinned males being shot to death because they appear... sorta suspicious. But in London? Where the 'bobbys' don't even carry guns, or so they used to say? Five times they shot this poor guy? Shoot first, ask questions later, but what about the questioning? Kill them and they can't talk, didja ever think of that?! Fucking idiots. This really sucks for the Muslim community in London, and in this country too. People are so quick to panic, so quick to blame, so quick to stereotype, to categorize, to 'profile', it's sad. I've never been happier to be a white female, seriously. In fact, if these extremists really wanted to blow people up, they would enlist some white females, draw them in, convince them that Paradise is only a backpack filled with explosives away. How awful, though, really, how very very awful, for people to point you out, say you're acting funny, they think you've got a bomb, sic the police on you to the point you run in terror, and then for one of them to push you into the ground after you've stumbled and fallen, and unload his pistol into you. Shameful, really. Let us hope Paradise awaited that one. Cost of the War in Iraq
